QUEZON CITY--In a bizarre twist, Mahindra opted to put into hold a five-player trade already approved by PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa.
The supposed deal had Karl Dehesa and Mike DiGregorio heading to GlobalPort for Roi Sumang, Paolo Taha, and Jonathan Uyloan.
The league announced the approval of the transfer at around 6 p.m. on Friday night, but two hours later, while the semifinal game between Alaska and Meralco is ongoing, the league announced the postponement of the swap.
An initial report of the deal surfaced last week with only Sumang not involved in the original trade proposal, but he was added to the fray in the revised deal which was given the go-signal by Narvasa.
Pending amendments to the trade or the complete cancellation of it, all the five players involved remain with their current clubs.
