QUEZON CITY--Rain Or Shine put an end to Ginebra's PBA Commissioner's Cup campaign with a 102-89 rout in Game 2 of the quarterfinals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday night.
Two nights after crawling back from 19 down to take the series opener, it was the fourth-seeded Elasto Painters' turn to start the match with an early double-digit lead.
This time, however, they kept the fifth-seeded Barangay from pulling an encore of sorts as a late second half charge made them pull away for good to complete the 2-0 sweep of the best-of-three series.
Jeff Chan tallied 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting, while JR Quiñahan added 21 points for ROS, which will await tomorrow's winner between San Miguel and Star in the semifinals.
In his final Commissioner's Cup game, Othyus Jeffers, who is actually eligible to suit up for the Governors' Cup as he is listed at 6-5, had 27 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, and three steals for Ginebra.
