QUEZON CITY--San Sebastian College-Recoletos won its matches in the 12U and 13U divisions against JCA Fruitas at the City Hoops Manila on Friday at the Central Colleges of the Philippines Gym as the 13U Staglets breezed past its opponent, 48-23, while the 12U SSCR squad won, 37-32.
After erecting a 32-11 lead at the half, San Sebastian coach Bobby Lotuaco opted to slow the game down in the next 20 minutes as he opted to run half court plays patterned after PBA mentor Tim Cone’s triangle offense. The two were once part of the coaching staff in Alaska.
Blue Fernandez top scored for the Recto-based squad with 15 points, while grabbing nine rebounds. Angelo Masagca had a double-double with ten markers and 11 boards.
Meanwhile, the younger Staglets also emerged victorious after suffering a defeat against Claret in the previous play-date. James Ganutisi had a statline of 15 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Kyle Noblejas had nine, eight, and three.
