PASAY—The UP Streetdance Club won its third consecutive UAAP Streetdance title in its fifth staging at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The UPSDC's ripoff-themed routine got the nod of two of the four judges, enough to clinch the three-peat.

The team, which first won the plum in 2013 before repeating last year, also got PHP120 thousand as the top prize.

The La Salle Dance Company-Street, the inaugural back-to-back champions of the competition in 2011 and 2012, finished second with a PHP90 thousand prize, earning one first-place vote and one second-place vote.

The UST Hype, which took over from the Salinggawi Dance Troupe, made an impressive debut by finishing third, getting one third-place and even two second-place votes.

Meanwhile, last year's first runner-up Company of Ateneo Dancers, despite getting the other first place vote, slipped to fourth as the three other judges had them outside their top three.

CADS was involved in some drama during the competition as their performance, scheduled to go first, was cut short midway through owing to the TV broadcaster's airtime and had to repeat from the start after UST Hype's turn, which was initially set as the last performance.

The FEU Dance Company took the fifth spot, newcomer UE Armada placed sixth, and the Adamson CAST got the seventh spot to round up the rankings.
