Arellano mauls CSB for to go 3-0 in FilOil tilt

By Ivan Saldajeno

SAN JUAN, MM--Arellano joined Perpetual Help at the top of Group A of the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup after mauling CSB, 81-65, at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Wednesday.

Barely two hours after the Altas turned back the EAC Generals to move up to 3-0, it was the Chiefs' turn to go 3-0 in the tournament as they bucked a close first quarter and gradually pulled away in the final three periods from the Blazers, who were still looking to find their groove.

Brylle Meca had 15 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Kent Salado nearly accomplished a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds, and six assist along with two steals for Arellano, which will take on Perpetual Help next on Friday.

The Chiefs' "Big 3" had a quiet outing as Jio Jalalon only tallied six points, while Zach Nicholls and Dioncee Holts were scoreless, although the latter had two blocks. But it was the shock troopers who took over for the team.

Christian Fajarito led CSB with a game-high 21 markers, nine rebounds, and one block.
