QUEZON CITY--Friday is fast-shaping to be a "Blue Day" in youth basketball play as three Ateneo teams won in their PhilHealth-City Hoops Preseason Cup matches at the Central Colleges of the Philippines Gym.
The Blue Eaglets' U17 Prada opened the day by bucking off the absence of tall order Kai Sotto to defeat Notre Dame, 42-41.
Later, the U13 White team and the U15 Blue team walked away with victories in all-Ateneo battles.
U13 Ateneo White drubbed their Blue counterparts, 62-32, while the U15 Blue squad needed a late push before trouncing their White comrades, 70-63.
Ateneo can sweep the day if their UAAP seniors and juniors teams romp their respective Adamson opponents in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup later Friday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
The only game that did not end up in an Ateneo win had UP mauling Xavier, 58-37, in the other scheduled U17 action.
