SAN JUAN, MM–Cignal TV started off the Spikers’ Turf Season 2 Open Conference with a five-set win over Bounty Fresh, 25-18, 23-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-10, on Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Four players finished in double figures for Cignal with Ysay Marasigan at the helm with 20 points (16 attacks, four blocks).
Raymark Woo had 12 attacks and two blocks, while Herschel Ramos had 13 markers, four of which are from service aces, and Edmar Bonono had 12.
Setter Vincent Mangulabnan had an efficient match with 35 excellent sets in 58 total attempts.
Romnick Rico and Jason Sarabia were co-topscorers for Bounty Fresh with 15 points each.
Jeric Gacutan came up with 13 and Philip Michael Bagalay finished with ten markers in the near two-hour contest.
Meanwhile, Instituto Estetico Manila shut out Philippine Navy, 25-22, 25-22, 27-25, on Saturday.
Sta Elena Construction and Philippine Air Force are the two remaining squads that haven’t seen action yet.
