MANILA--FilOil Flying V Sports announced a tweak at the schedule of the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup involving the four hottest college basketball programs.

On Wednesday, the organizing body said that they will stage the anticipated derbies between NCAA rivals San Beda and Letran and UAAP rivals Ateneo and La Salle at an earlier date owing to a commitment already made by one of the teams.

Originally scheduled on June 5, both the San Beda-Letran and Ateneo-La Salle games will now be played on May 29 but still at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Like previously planned, both matches will be televised live on ABSCBN Sports and Action.

In the process, the Mapua-UE fight scheduled at a 1:30 p.m. tip-off of May 29 will now be played at 6 p.m.

The morning tipoffs, the EAC-NU and the CSB-FEU clashes, will still push through as scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. respectively. The said games plus the Mapua-UE nightcap are not televised.

Meanwhile, the originally scheduled derbies for May 29 will now take place on June 5 at the said venue.

The San Beda-Ateneo and the Letran-La Salle rivalries, which became hot topics during the 70's, will now be rekindled a week from Sunday with the San Beda-Ateneo match to be played at 11:15 a.m. and the Letran-La Salle game taking place at 5 p.m.

The originally scheduled morning tiffs, the NU-Arellano and the Adamson-UE games, will now be sandwiched fixtures-wise by the aforementioned matches at 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. respectively.

The juniors game between Ateneo and La Salle-Zobel, which was supposed to start at 6 p.m., will now be played at an earlier time at 9:30 a.m., preceding the San Beda-Ateneo game.

Meanwhile, CJ Perez will finally make his Ateneo debut as his team will face Letran in one of three seniors games scheduled on Thursday also at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The former San Sebastian Golden Stag, who played for the Blue Eagles' Team B while serving his residency, is set for his first Blue Eagles Team A game as they take on the Knights at 5 p.m.

Also, EAC and CSB battle it out at 1:30 p.m. even as Mapua and San Beda collide at 3:15 p,m.

A juniors match between Malayan and NSNU serves as the curtain raiser at 11:15 a.m.
