MANILA-- Global remain on top of the league table after downing Loyola, 1-0 in a tight and physical encounter at the Rizal Memorial Stadium

Left-back Daisuke Sato scored the lone strike that extended their winning streak for the fourth match running as Leigh Manson's men are already six points clear of JP Voltes.

The former Urawa youth standout just eleven minutes after it began, beating three Loyola defenders as he fired the ball to the far post of Tomas Trigo, despite calls for blatant handball fell on deaf ears.

Global could have doubled the advantage seven minutes later after Simon Greatwich plucked Dennis Villanueva inside the box, but Ivan Petrovic sent his spot kick wide to the right.

But the stellar goalkeeping of Patrick Deyto and its backline held firm for the rest of the way, as they managed to grab their third consecutive shutout to continue their march towards a record-tying third league crown.
