LONDON--Last year, Eden Hazard scored what would become the Barclays Premier League championship-clinching goal for Chelsea.
On Tuesday (Philippine Time), despite already dethroned last week, a Hazard goal assured that the trophy will be handed out.
The recipients happened to be the team no one expected to win it all.
A late goal from Hazard completed Chelsea's comeback from a 0-2 halftime deficit to stun Tottenham, 2-2, at Stamford Bridge.
The said draw effectively gave Leicsester, who were dead last in the league table with only a few games left the previous season but went on to escape relegation and entered the 2015-16 calendar 5000-to-1 long shots to win it all, their first-ever Division 1 title in club history, putting a "happily-ever-after" ending to a Cinderella story that was heard all around the sporting world.
Tottenham, which needed the win to stay alive in the title hunt, struck first when Harry Kane broke past Chelsea's defense and hit the goal in the 35th minute.
Son-Heung-Min followed up with a goal of his own in the 44th minute.
Gary Cahill, however, put Chelsea on the board with a 58th minute attack off a corner kick to the delight of their home turf fans and even Leicester fans either at the venue or at their homes gluing to their TV's.
Hazard then sneaked into the box and struck the ball from the middle part to the top of the goal to eventually snatch the tie and totally end Tottenham's title aspirations as Leicester got the needed point margin they need with two matches left to win the plum.
Leicester will be formally handed the title at home on Sunday (Philippine Time) against Everton.
