MANILA--Before he begins his training for future competitions, renowned figure skater Michael Martinez will impart what he learned about ice skating to his fans and to people who want to try the sport.

"I'm really thankful to SM for giving me opportunity to impart my knowledge to the figure skaters here," the first Filipino Winter Olympian expressed his gratitude to the said mall, which will host two skating camps that will be led by himself.

Martinez held the press launch of his ice skating crash course at the Aristocrat Restaurant on Tuesday.

Martinez will first hold a three-day camp at the new Mall of Asia Skating Rink in Pasay on June 15-17 before heading to the new SM Cebu Skating Rink for another two-day camp on June 30-July 1.

"Tuturuan ko yung basic stuff--the edges, the spins, the jumps, and the programs," he bared what to expect in the camps, which will be open to all enthusiasts who are in the junior and senior levels of experience.

A special show by Martinez and a meet-and-greet session will cap the said camps. He will perform at the SM Megamall Skating Rink in Mandaluyong on June 18 and at the SM Cebu rink on July 2.
