Mbala shows might as La Salle bludgeons Ateneo

SAN JUAN, MM—Every time Ateneo and La Salle meet whether in the preseason, the UAAP, or in the PCCL, it is expected that their games to go down the wire.

On Sunday night, however, the Green Archers went on a tear.

La Salle waxed hot from the start and took down Ateneo, 98-66, in their anticipated FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Archers began the match on a 10-2 run while Ben Mbala imposed his will inside to help them go up by as much as 34.

Mbala finished with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and three blocks for La Salle, which moved up to 5-0 in Group B.

Thirdy Ravena and Chibueze Ikeh each made ten markers for Ateneo, which slipped to 3-2.
