MANILA-- They just cannot stop winning, yet.

Just two weeks after they won the UFL Cup, Global were business as usual, picking up a straightforward 4-2 win over Stallion to cap off the opening weekend of the League season Sunday evening at the Rizal Memorial.

Fresh from his Golden Ball performance in the Cup final, Misagh Bahadoran pushed the two-time league champions for its first three points with his second brace in as many matches to grab all three points for Leigh Manson and was duly backed up by Hikaru Minegishi and a own goal by Stallion defender Chirstian Nana.

Skipper Ruben Doctora and Simone Rota pulled a goal back for the 2013 league titlists but Ernie Nierras still can't find the antidote to end their league winless streak against Global that stretched to 11 matches since they are promoted to top flight in 2012.

Minegishi and Bahadoran went to work early, and a quickfire double past former teammate Roland Sadia in two minutes put Global 2-0 ahead in the first ten minutes, setting the tone that turned a what has been a supposed close contest into an early blowout.

But the Stallion captain had other ideas in the 33rd minute, halving the deficit with a solo effort by beating Deyto and slotted the ball into the empty net, as Global still had the upperhand at the break 2-1.

Global continued their assertion over Stallion in the restart, as they were rewarded a minute before the hour mark, as the corner by new signing Ivan Petrovic was mistakenly put by Nana into his own net to restore their two-goal cushion

Not to be contented, Bahadoran tripled their advantage thirteen minutes before full time, with a solo effort on a left foot that went past substitute Ref Cuaresma to settle matters.

Rota then made the final count by slotting home his spot kick with four minutes count for their second consolation strike.
