PASAY--Mea Niñura entered the final of the 3000-meter run at the Palarong Pambansa in Legazpi as the underdog.
However, she pulled one of the most magical moments of the said youth sportsfest as she did not just defied the odds to win the race but also broke the Philippine national record for the said event that stood for 36 years.
In an interview with some media people after she was named among this year's biggest achievers by a fastfood restaurant on Friday night, she admitted that the nerves came to her before the race.
On winning the said race in historic fashion, she said, "Masayang-masaya ako."
