SAN JUAN, MM--UP won for the first time with Coach Bo Perasol at the helm after shocking defending UAAP and PCCL champions FEU, 67-61, in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Wednesday night.
The Fighting Maroons became steady in offense in the final three quarters while stifling the Tamaraws, who are reeling from the loss of Mac Belo, Russel Escoto, and Mike Tolomia, for most of the game to move up to 1-1 in Group A.
Paul Desiderio and Dave Moralde each chipped in 14 points on a combined 10-of-14 shooting for UP.
Monbert Arong fired 14 markers for FEU, which slid to 1-2.
