QUEZON CITY--Alyssa Valdez has been known by many as one of volleyball's biggest superstar players right now.

But a half-week after her much-talked-about UAAP career came to an end, Valdez bared her desire to give back to the fans by unveiling an opportunity for them to learn the sport.

On Wednesday at The Frazzled Cook Restaurant, the former Queen Eagle announced that she is set to open the Alyssa Valdez Skills Camp.

The said volleyball camp, presented by PLDT Home Ultera, will actually begin on Thursday and will run until May 22.

Valdez herself will handle the teaching to the participants in five cities namely Calamba, Quezon City, Batangas, Cainta, and Dasmariñas together with fellow Queen Eagle Amy Ahomiro, UST coach Kung Fu Reyes, and former San Sebastian Queen Stag Gretchel Soltones.

John Vic De Guzman, Angge Tabaquero, Mylene Paat, Shaya Adorador, EJ Laure, and Bernadeth Pons will also grace the event as teachers in some of the legs.

"This workshop will give young players the same experience that full-time volleyball athletes undergo.... It will be challenging but also a lot of fun," Valdez said.

Meanwhile, Valdez also said that the camp will not hinder her from continuing her playing career as she revealed that she will suit up in the Shakey's V-League First Conference while also considering to play overseas afterward.
