SAN JUAN, MM—Philippine Air Force upended University of the Philippines, 27-25, 25-19, 25-17, for its third win in as many matches in the preliminaries of the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference on Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

After encountering some trouble in the initial frame, the Jet Spikers went on to have a better performance in the latter two sets. Jocemer Tapic led PAF with 15 points, registering eight attacks, three blocks, and four service aces.

Veteran Judy Caballejo poured in 14 points, 12 of which came from attacks and the rest from service aces. Dell Palomata honed in nine attack points for ten markers.

Air Force dominated the attack department, 41-25, while also converting eight points coming from serves.

No one from the Maroons reached double digits in points as Kathy Bersola and Isa Molde had seven points apiece. The two accounted for four of UP’s seven blocks in the match.

The Jasper Jimenez-mentored squad has only dropped a single set so far in the tournament, sweeping Baguio two days prior, 25-15, 25-19, 25-18.

State U, on the other hand, is winless after two contests.
