MANILA--On Thursday, Stephen Appiah scored Nomads' first earned goal of the UFL season.

Three days later, he struck again, and this time, it was for Nomads' first earned win.

Appiah delivered the go-ahead goal as Nomads rallied to beat Forza, 2-1, in the curtain-raiser of the UFL's Independence Day special at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Appiah struck the match-clinching goal one minute into stoppage time as Nomads completed a crucial counter-attack to cap the late comeback.

Forza thought they were on the verge of taking the win after holding on to their defense following Hayato Aoki's 38th minute strike.

But Kevin Biñas equalized in the 81st minute as he struck on a putback after Abu Ibrahim denied Appiah's crack at the goal.

Appiah then buried the game-winner just as the fourth official announced the additional minutes as he blitzed past the Forza backline and slotted the ball past Ibrahim way inside the box.

Nomads tallied their first win since a 3-0 forfeiture victory against Agila on May 1 and moved up to eighth place in the standings. Forza, despite the loss, remains in tenth place.
