ASTANA--The Philippines kicked off their stint in the FIBA U18 3x3 Championship on a bad note, losing both their games on Thursday night at the Astana Open House.
The Batang Gilas contingent consisting of Josh Sinclair, John Clemente, Theo Flores, and Kyle Tan began their campaign with an 11-21 defeat against New Zealand before bowing to Brazil, 14-20.
The Philippine squad must now beat Hungary and Spain on Saturday night to still barge to the quarterfinals of the week-long tournament.
