MANILA--Ceres ran amuck on a hapless Pasargad side, firing 16 goals without reply as the United Football League resumed its weekend hostilities on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium
Adrian Gallardo had zoomed above everyone else in the season's goalscoring charts in this match alone, firing half of the Busmen's output to overtake Kenshiro Daniels, who had seven goals to his account.
A hat-trick by Stephan Schröck and a brace each for Patrick Reichelt and Carli de Murga gave Frank Muescan a much needed boost in their title defense as they level with Kaya at second on 9 points and +30 goal difference. Idle JP Voltes dropped to fourth with an inferior +13 GD.
But the headlines belonged to skipper Juani Guirado, as he ended his footballing career with a win more than two months after he won his last match for the Azkals.
The center-back scored his first and only goal for the defending champions with a free header with 13 minutes left.
Ceres clearly hit and ran the happless Pasargad side who played with exactly eleven players, in whom they limited them to just a single shot.
