TAGUIG--Many thought the tandem of Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge in Portland will last long.
Last year, however, Aldridge, a free agent that time, opted to go to his home state and play for San Antonio.
Lillard knew this is part of the NBA life.
"It's business," the Blazers star told the media at the news conference of the Adidas Dame Time Manila at the Kerry Gym on Tuesday about free agency in general.
He, however, admitted that losing Aldridge to the Spurs was something he struggled to accept.
"It's hard to see him go.... We developed [a good] relationship [as teammates].... It was like a brotherhood," Lillard described their time together with Aldridge as Portland's 1-2 punch.
However, Lillard led the Blazers to another great season, once again making the NBA quarterfinals with a vastly improved CJ McCollum also providing a spark.
