MANILA-- Ceres moved within touching distance of leaders
Global with a comprehensive 4-1 win over struggling Stallion as the league
capped off its Saturday fixtures late this afternoon at the Rizal Memorial
Stadium.
Stephan Schröck stepped up in the absence of the suspended
Adrian, firing a hat-trick alongside Patrick Reichelt’s 45th minute
strike for their sixth consecutive win to remain at second at the league table,
three points behind the current Cup holders who remain unbeaten after a hard
fought 2-0 win over defensive-minded Forza earlier.
Ernest Nierras’ men are now slipping away from the top five,
as Christian Nana’s consolation will not suffice for them they slumped to their
third defeat in their see-saw season and are stuck in sixth with 10 points and
only muster four points against the top five clubs.
Ceres boss Ali Go tweaked their line-up as they are also
preparing for their Singapore Cup quarterfinal tie with Brunei’s DPMM, with Lee
Jeong Woo filled in for the Spanish forward and putting Val Kama at center-
back for Kim Sang Min. Kevin Ingreso played for the first time since the cup
and played for 70 minutes.
