MANILA--JP Voltes produced the earliest shock of the season when they forced a goalless stalemate against former league champions Stallion in a slightly drizzled Independence Day afternoon at the Rizal Memorial Stadium

Neither team found the back of the net in a close yet encounter in which Voltes were the slightly more aggressive side, taking more shots and fouled more times than their opponents.

Both sides almost came close in getting the marginal strike, with Fitch Arboleda almost scored twice but his header were denied by the post midway into the second half and was denied by Nelson Gasic with three minutes left.

Roland Sadia also made a name for himself as he denied Takumi Uesato thrice in the match.

Voltes remained in second with 10 points after five matches, whereas the 2013 double winners leapfrogged GAU in sixth on goal difference.

Ernest Nierras' men set a unique record on garnering their fourth goalless stalemate in their top-flight campaign since 2012.
