QUEZON CITY--Following two collaborations with budding local MMA promotion UGB, the WSOF, through its international arm WSOF-GC, will hold a grand event on July 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Two cops will headline the said fight card as they vie for the WSOF Global heavyweight championship.

Russia's Evgeny Erokhin stakes his belt against USA's Richard Odoms in the main event of the said card.

Erokhin, a police officer in his hometown of Khabarovsk, won the said title on Feb. 7 in Tokyo against Brandon Cash and looks to add another American victim in Odoms in his first title defense.

Odoms, who also consider crime fighting his day job in San Antonio, silenced the Japanese crowd in Tokyo also in the said date after downing Yusuke Kawaguchi, eventually earning the number one contender tag.

“Evgeny Erokhin has been on an amazing run over the last several years. We are fortunate to have this MMA rising star represent us as our Global Champion, but 'The Black Eagle' [Odoms] is soaring high himself. Erokhin hits like he has steel in his fists, but he has never faced someone as large as Odoms, who stands at 6-feet-5 and cuts weight down from 300 pounds.... This should be a ground-shaking, exciting main event. When you add in the intriguing storyline of Russian cop versus American cop, it’s almost like something out of an action movie,” said WSOF-GC vice president for operations Jason Lilly.
