QUEZON CITY--Five Ginebra players were named into the PBA All-Star Game starters as per an announcement on Saturday.
Superstar guard Mark Caguioa and power forward Japeth Aguilar will headline the North All-Stars, while former NCAA triple-double machine Scottie Thompson, burly forward Joe Devance, and seven-foot behemoth Greg Slaughter lead the South All-Stars.
Joining Caguioa and Aguilar at the Luzon-based squad are GlobalPort's flashy guard Terrence Romeo, Alaska's energetic swingman Calvin Abueva, and Star's tenacious stopper Marc Pingris.
On the other hand, completing the VisMin-based starting unit are Star's scoring machine James Yap and San Miguel's dominant big guy Junemar Fajardo, effectively having the league's two tallest players at the same team again for the annual showcase scheduled for Aug. 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The remainder of the All-Star lineups will be named at a later date.
