QUEZON CITY--Jujeath Nagaowa showed no rust in her first MMA action in two years, beating Yuko Kiryu in WSOF-GC 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday night.
Nagaowa, a former boxing champion before giving MMA a try back in 2014, displayed her striking power over her opponent, eventually giving her the unanimous decision win.
The former One Championship standout quickly dealt good punches to the Japanese fighter in Round 1, immediately inflicting a swelling to her face with only a late takedown weathering the storm.
It was the similar case in the next five-minute period; Nagaowa again used her striking prowess on Kiryu to deal more damage with the latter only surviving the round with another takedown.
Nagaowa then showed her improved ground game in the final round with her turn to take down Kiryu, and the latter never recovered.
The three judges gave identical 30-27 cards to Nagaowa, who remains unbeaten after three fights.
