SAN JUAN CITY—Seven games in, yet there’s still no stopping San Beda.

Surviving another tough cookie in Mapua, the Lions fended off the Cardinals, 85-74 to stay unblemished in the seniors’ basketball competition of the NCAA Srason 92 Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Davon Potts was in his usual scoring self, but it was fellow rookie Robert Bolick who stole the spotlight as he registered a near triple-double of 12 assists, 10 points, and eight assists, punctuated by an off-balance jumper to give the Lions a 82-74 advantage.

Down 16-20 after the first quarter, the boys of Coach Jamike Jarin went full throttle at the start of the second with a 14-5 salvo to enter the half leading by 10, 45-35.

Mapua managed to crawl back to bring the lead down to 80-74 on an Andoy Estrella bucket, but a passing error by Oraeme coupled with Bolick’s end-game shot sealed the doom for the Intramuros-based team.

Potts led all scorers with 25 markers while providing the needed firepower to dispose the Cardinals in the fourth period. AC Soberano and Javee Mocon combined for 31 points.

Allwell Oraeme led the Cardinals with another double-double of 21 points and 20 rebounds, but his efforts went for naught as it tied Letran at 5-2.
