QUEZON CITY--Rain Or Shine waxed hot in the final quarter to frustrate Phoenix, 106-89, in the nightcap of the PBA Governors' Cup doubleheader at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.
The Elasto Painters bounced back from an awkward third quarter by dropping 41 points in the fourth to maul the Fuel Masters, who are still in the process of adjusting to Coach Ariel Vanguardia's system.
After a close first half, Phoenix appeared to be heading to a huge upset after scoring 30 points in the third quarter compared to ROS' 18 to take a 74-65 lead going to the fourth.
But the E-Painters slowly crawled back and went on the game-turning 17-0 run to take a 100-85 lead and never looked back.
Dior Lowhorn led ROS with 26 points, 14 rebounds, one steal, and one block, while JR Quiñahan added 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists off the bench.
Norbert Torres tallied 16 markers, eight boards, one dime, and one block for Phoenix, which dropped to 0-3.
