MANILA--The Younghusband Brothers joined forces in giving Loyola a 9-0 rout of Pasargad in their UFL match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Thursday.
Phil Younghusband fired a hat trick, while older brother James added a brace as they turned the game into a lopsided result to hand Loyola the first spot in the league table.
Curt Dizon actually started the scoring barrage after converting the opening goal five minutes in. Jason De Jong made it 2-0 15 minutes later.
The Younghusbands then came to work, starting with Phil's 25th minute attack for the 3-0 lead.
James then ended the first half with Loyola's fourth goal and started the last frame with the team's fifth strike.
Phil converted another goal in the 64th minute to cap the brothers' four-goal spree.
Substitute Jinggoy Valmayor joined the scoring parade as he made a 75th minute goal before Phil Younghusband capped his three-goal haul with a penalty conversion in the 79th minute.
Alvaro Castiella put the nail in the coffin with an 88th minute attack.
Loyola is actually tied with idle Global on points, but the former clinched the top spot with a +48 goal difference compared to the latter's +31.
Global, however, can reclaim first place with a victory on Saturday against GAU at the said venue.
