QUEZON CITY--No Coach Egay Macaraya and Rod Ebondo? No problem.

Cafe France-CEU boosted its chance of nailing a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup with a 93-67 mauling of Mindanao in the penultimate game of the eliminations at the JCSGO Gym on Tuesday.

The Bakers, who did not have Macaraya due to a one-game suspension and Ebondo due to flu, pulled away for good in the final three quarters after the Aguilas surprisingly kept the game close in the first quarter and even took the lead early in the second.

Carl Cruz finished with 23 points and five rebounds off the bench, while Mike Parala had 12 points and ten rebounds for Cafe France, whose bid for the semifinal incentive lies in the final match of the preliminaries, the Racal-AMA game, which is still playing as of posting.

A win by the Titans can give the Bakers the twice-to-beat edge against the Tanduay Rhum Masters in the semifinals on Thursday night at the Strike Gym in Bacoor.

However, a win by the Tile Masters will hand the Phoenix Accelerators the bonus against the Bakers.

Gino Jumao-as fired 20 markers for Mindanao, which got completely shut down in the tournament, failing to register a single win.
