MANILA--NLEX wingman Mark Cardona was rushed to the hospital after an overdose in pills on Sunday.
The said news came at the heels of a domestic violence complaint filed by his partner Bianca Jackes on Saturday after she claimed he pointed a gun at her.
In an interview with DZMM, in which the video replay was posted on YouTube and the website of ABSCBN News, which first broke the story, Rowena Cardona, the older sister of "Mac-Mac", said that the former La Salle star is currently confined at the ICU of the Perpetual Help Medical Center in Las Piñas and is now stabilizing, while Spin.PH's Snow Badua later reported that he was never been in comatose contrary to some other online claims.
The older Cardona also aired her side on Jackes' complaint, saying that her brother does not own a gun at all and effectively denying everything that Jackes said.
On the other hand, in an official statement, the Road Warriors' team manager, Roland Dulatre, told the general public to let the Cardona Family spend some time together as they brave their current situation.
"We urge the public to allow Mac-Mac and his family to have privacy at this difficult time.... We are providing whatever assistance he needs from us during this time," said Dulatre.
