Castro bests Gilas comrades for Player of the Week award

MANILA--Jayson Castro edged three fellow Gilas Pilipinas players for the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week as announced on Monday.

Castro, who tallied 26 points, ten assists, five steals, and four rebounds in TNT's down-the-wire victory over Alaska on Friday night, beat Ginebra's Japeth Aguilar, Rain Or Shine's Paul Lee, and San Miguel's Junemar Fajardo for the weekly citation.

With his team now at 3-0 along with surprise co-leader Mahindra, Castro vowed that TNT will be in the finals of the season-ending Governors' Cup.

"Yun ang challenge sa amin ng management na makapasok naman uli kami ng finals," said Castro.
