Digital Chaos ends TNC's monumental TI6 run

By Ivan Saldajeno

SEATTLE--TNC's memorable stint in TI6 came to an end on Friday (Philippine Time) after Digital Chaos bounced back from a devastating Game 1 defeat to take the best-of-three series, 2-1, in the third round of the Lower Bracket playoffs at the Key Arena.

The American quintet of captain Rasmus Flipsen, Roman Fominok. Aliwi Omar, David Hull, and Martin Sazdov first found themselves at the wrong end of a strong Batrider play by Sam Hidalgo in the opener as TNC, which also have skipper Nico Barcelon, Carlo Palad, Marc Fausto, and Jimmy Ho, put themselves at the brink of a possible Top 6 finish.

But Fominok took over in the next two games as his Magnus in the eventual series equalizer and his Slark in the decider wreaked havoc on TNC to stay alive in the hunt for over US$8 million.

As a result of finishing at joint seventh place, the highest ever by a Philippine team in the prestigious DOTA 2 tournament, TNC goes home with US$504 thousand (about PHP23.6 million).

However, the Filipino participation in TI6 does not end there as DJ Mampusti and the rest of the guys at Malaysian-based Fnatic is battling Liquid in another Lower Bracket Round 3 action as of posting.
