Escape ends Execration's dream TI6 run, enters group stages

By Ivan Saldajeno

SEATTLE--Escape eliminated Execration from The International 6 contention with a 2-0 sweep of the second wildcard playoff at the Key Arena on Wednesday (Philippine Time).

The European club, whose entire roster is composed of former players of No Diggity, broke through late into Game 1 and totally wiped out Execration in Game 2.

Looking to be a close match in the early stages of the opener, Escape got the upper hand after successful ganks midway through and an aggressive approach in the clutch.

Later, after everyone witnessed Abed Yusop's live Meepo mixtape in Execration's win against Complexity, it was Escape's turn to send Execration to the wrong side of the highlight reel as Escape completely shut down Execration in the clincher, never giving their opponents any kill in the match.

The loss put an end to the Filipino club's dream run in the DOTA 2 tournament that saw them almost beating EHome and Yusop's Meepo onslaught.

It also leaves TNC as the remaining Filipino team in TI6. TNC begins its own quest against TI3 champions Alliance early Thursday (Philippine Time).

Escape clinched the last seat to the group stages, joining EHome, which ironically beat them earlier Wednesday for the first wildcard berth.
