Ginebra pulls away late to down Blackwater

QUEZON CITY--Ginebra needed a late push to beat Blackwater, 107-95, in the nightcap of the PBA Governors' Cup doubleheader at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.

Bouncing back from a surprisingly sluggish start and holding on to their lead for the remainder of the game, the Gin Kings went on a crucial 9-2 run to build their largest advantage at 16, 103-87, and never looked back.

Justin Brownlee fired 27 points, while L.A. Tenorio added 23 with five assists for Ginebra, which moved up to 4-1.

Eric Dawson tallied 26 points, while Carlo Lastimosa contributed 21 for Blackwater.
