PBA

ANTIPOLO--GlobalPort lost a huge lead it built early on but got back on track to trample San Miguel, 98-92, in the nightcap of the PBA Governors' Cup doubleheader at the Ynares Center on Friday.

The Batang Pier waxed hot in the first quarter, opening a 21-3 lead and limited the Beermen to only eight points the entire period.

The Beermen, however, bounced back in the second, using a 24-6 run midway in the frame to tie the game, 39-all.

GlobalPort recovered in the third quarter, reopening an 11-point lead and countered all the threats of SMB in the end.

Stanley Pringle scorched for 25 points with two rebounds, four assists, and one steal for the Batang Pier, who moved up to 2-4.

AZ Reid's 41-point and 15-rebound night went for naught as the Beermen slipped to 4-2.
