RIO DE JANEIRO--Jessie Lacuaa's Olympic stint came to a screeching halt after missing the cut in the 400-meter freestyle swimming race on Sunday (Philippine Time).
Lacuaa finished sixth in Heat 2 after finishing at 4:01.7, a far cry from his personal best of 3:55.34, ranking 46th overall out of 50 swimmers.
Lacuaa will miss the final as only the eight best swimmers after all the heats will vie for the gold later Sunday.
The Philippine team is now down to only 11, with Charly Suarez in line for a boxing match against Great Britain's Joe Cordina.
