Mahindra hands TNT first defeat

By Ivan Saldajeno

QUEZON CITY--Before two straight defeats, Mahindra was once tied with TNT for first place in the team standings of the PBA Governors' Cup.

After their game on Friday night, the Enforcers are once again at tight distance with the KaTropa.

Mahindra mounted another winning streak while slapping TNT with its first loss of the season-ending conference by a 107-104 victory at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Enforcers used a 32-point second quarter to take the lead before triples from KG Canaleta and LA Revilla turned out to be the dagger baskets.

James White had a solid all-around effort with 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and two steals for Mahindra, which won back-to-back games is now a half-game behind TNT in the race for the top seed.

Revilla, who returned from a successful nasal surgery, played through a protective mask and chipped in 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals off the bench.

Jayson Castro's 33-point explosion went for naught as TNT saw its 6-0 start snapped.
