QUEZON CITY--Meralco used a fourth quarter surge to take down an undermanned Blackwater squad, 105-90, in the nightcap of the PBA Governors' Cup doubleheader at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
The Bolts went on a crucial 8-0 run to build a commanding 18-point lead against the Elite, who are without import Eric Dawson and local center JP Erram, and never looked back.
Allen Durham, following a 55-point explosion the last time out, showcased an all-around performance this time with 30 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and a block for Meralco.
Arth Dela Cruz led Blackwater, who showed grit in some parts of the game, with 23 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Denok Miranda tallied five points, two rebounds, and two assists in his first game with the team.
Juami Tiongson, who showed his A-game in his PBA D-League stint with Blu-Malaysia, returned to Blackwater and contributed four points.
Dawson sat out on Wednesday night due to back spasm, while Erram suffered an ACL injury that will sideline him for the rest of the conference and even the upcoming Philippine Cup.
