PASIG--After two straight defeats, Phoenix found themselves slipping from the top spot to the brink of even missing the second seed in the semifinals of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
The Accelerators, however, have a chance to get back on track for a twice-to-beat advantage in the next phase as they face the Blu-Malaysia Dragons in the last 6 p.m. offering for the eliminations on Tuesday night at the Ynares Sports Arena.
"Must win para sa amin yung last two games. But we're looking at it the same way we did all conference, one game at a time. I'm positive that the team will bounce back," said Coach Eric Gonzales, whose Phoenix side will still need to take on Cafe France-CEU on Thursday, when the league reverts to the 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. tip-offs, at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
Blu-Malaysia, on the other hand, wants to end their stint in the D-League on a high note as they start shifting their attention to the ABL, where they are the defending champions.
"There are many things to learn for our players.... We have our final game against Phoenix, we'll definitely try our best," said Coach Goh Cheng Huat.
In the curtain-raiser at 4 p.m., also-ran squads AMA and Mindanao collide.
