QUEZON CITY--For the third straight year, Terrence Romeo is the "King from 22 Feet".
The GlobalPort guard was successful in his second defense of his PBA All-Star 3-Point Shootout title on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Although finishing the final round with a lower output than his preliminary round score, Romeo still did enough to beat Mahindra's KG Canaleta and Alaska's RJ Jazul for the plum.
Canaleta, who is better known for his slam dunks, showed that he did not join the wrong contest as he got the best score in the first round with 25 points, just a point ahead Romeo's 24 and three points above Jazul's 22.
But Romeo proved that the final round score is all that matter despite only scoring 20 in the said round as he edged both Canaleta and Jazul, who each tallied 17, for all the marbles.
