Tabuena struggles in Day 1 of Olympic golf

RIO DE JANEIRO--Miguel Tabuena had a late slump and ended up in a tie for the 42nd spot after the first round of Olympic golf competition on Friday (Philippine Time).

Tabuena shot 2-over-par 73 at the end of the first 18 holes as he could not pick up from a good start.

Tabuena was in the thick of things early into the opening round, finding himself in a tie for seventh spot.

But Tabuena struggled in the latter holes, leading to bogeys even in Hole 18, to end up with the not-so-good stat.

Tabuena has three more rounds to bounce back and make a contention for the medals.
