By Ricky Manliguis

SAN JUAN, MM–Teytey Teodoro is at it again.

Teodoro fashioned out yet another clutch performance as Jose Rizal University carved out a 68-58 victory over Lyceum in the second game of Friday’s NCAA Season 92 basketball action at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The five-foot-nine spitfire exploded for 21 points, 10 in the pivotal fourth period, highlighted by a three-pointer from almost the half-court logo for a 67-58 lead with 6.2 seconds to go.

He also joined forces with reinforcement Abdel Poutouochi in inflicting the killer blows in the endgame to give the Kalentong-based squad its fourth successive triumph and seventh overall.

After a tightly-contested first half, the Pirates gained the upper hand early in the third before the Bombers answered with a 12-0 scoring spurt for a 64-58 edge.

Adrian Alban led a late-game Pirate push to come within 55-60 with 1:03 remaining, setting the stage for Teodoro's timely intervention.

He scored a step-back jumper over the defense of Jesper Ayaay, before his half-court trifecta put the icing on the cake.

The Junior lefty finished with a 42 percent field goal shooting anchored on 19 shots, including 3-of-8 form the three-point area. He also had two assists.

Ervin Grospe had a scintillating first half to finish with 15 points, while Poutouochi cashed in 14, seven of which came in the final five minutes of the match.

With the victory, the Bombers improve to 7-5, tying Mapua for a share of fourth place in the team standings.

It also spoiled the 27-point, seven-rebound game of Alban, who despite his efforts could not bail out the Pirates as it fell to a 5-7 win-loss slate. Mike Nzeusseu was limited to just 10 points on 3-of-6 FG clip along with 17 rebounds.
