SEATTLE--TNC knocked out Vici Reborn from contention in TI6 after their one-game lower bracket playoff opener at the Key Arena on Tuesday (Philippine Time).
The Filipino club recovered from an ugly start as three crucial clash wins against their Chinese foes sealed the fate of the game.
Vici Reborn, the "Team B" of Vici Gaming, seized early control of the top lane with Yang Pu, as Weaver, getting a double kill to start the offensive flow. Vici Reborn eventually began the match 3-0.
But TNC quickly bounced back with Marc Fausto, once again playing his ever-deadly Terrorblade, and Jimmy Ho, as Silencer, getting crucial kills to go up, 7-5.
Vici Reborn look to have taken control of the mid-game as a 2-for-0 clash win and the taking of the Aegis of the Immortal helped them rebuild the PK lead, 14-9.
TNC, however, scored a crucial 5-for-2 clash wipeout that started their comeback, and another 4-for-1 kill exchange effectively led them to forcing the razing of all Vici Reborn's barracks.
Vici Reborn officially conceded following the insurance 5-for-0 clash win by TNC.
TNC set up a group stage rematch with OG, which lost in their best-of-three upper bracket opening round assignment against MVP, in the next round of the lower bracket. From hereon, TNC will now play best-of-three series to stay alive in the competition.
TNC, with the win against Vici Reborn, is now assured of US$296 thousand (around PHP13.9 million) prize money.
