TNT sizzles in third to beat Phoenix

ANTIPOLO--TNT used a late third quarter surge to pip Phoenix, 124-117, for its sixth straight win in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Ynares Center on Friday night.

The KaTropa ended the quarter on a 20-4 run to open a 20-point lead, and they extended it to as high as 26 in the fourth quarter. They never looked back, although the Fuel Masters had a late run to trim the gap to a more decent one.

Michael Madanly fired 30 points off the bench with one rebound, one assist, two steals, and one block, while Mychal Ammons chipped in 22 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, and one steal for TNT, which strengthened its hold of the top spot and likewise survived a 49-point showcase from Eugene Phelps.
