BIÑAN--Mike Tolomia walked away with the PBA D-League Foundation Cup MVP award.
The league formally named the Phoenix guard as the winner of the top individual prize for his stellar performance that helped carry his team to the finals of the season-ending conference. Tolomia averaged 19.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists a ballgame until the semifinals.
Commissioner Chito Narvasa and Tournament Director Eric Castro handed Tolomia the MVP trophy minutes before tip-off of Game 2 of the championship series between the Accelerators, who lead the best-of-three series, 1-0, and the Tanduay Rhum Masters at the Alonte Sports Arena on Tuesday.
Tolomia bested Phoenix teammate Ed Daquioag, fellow ex-FEU Tamaraw Carl Cruz of Cafe France-CEU, former RP Youth Team teammate Gelo Alolino of Tanduay, and fellow Gilas pool comrade Jonathan Grey of Racal after getting the most number of votes from the media, TV5, and the Commissioner's Office.
