QUEZON CITY-- Back with a bang!

Adamson sent a huge message to the UAAP, tearing UP apart in a wire-to-wire win, 104-85 in the opening game of the league's 79th men's basketball season at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

Freshman swingman Jerrick Ahanmisi came out firing on his collegiate debut, firing in 28 points on an almost immaculate performance, only missing one attempt from downtown and stayed perfect from inside the arc.

Fellow freshman guard Robbie Manalang chipped in 16 points and is just one assist short of a double-double to give Franz Pumaren a resounding return to the college scene, seven years after his stint with La Salle ended unceremoniously with a stunning defeat to NU that eliminated them from postseason contention.

The younger sibling of Rain Or Shine rookie Maverick waxed hot in the third quarter, matching his 13-point halftime output with the same number of points, firing 13 of the Falcons' first 15 points, including 3 triples, as they led by as much as 21 throughout the contest.

Bo Perasol's debut with his alma mater ended in a sour note, as they came close to six in the pay-off period despite Paul Desiderio's 24 and Jett Manuel's 15, but were held to eight points in the final four minutes.
