TEHRAN--Chinese Taipei handed Gilas Pilipinas a second straight defeat in the FIBA Asia Challenge with an 87-76 clobbering on Sunday night.
The Taiwanese squad recovered from a slow start and went on a 25-14 fourth quarter to repulse the young yet gallant Filipino squad.
Quincy Davis had 19 points to lead six Chinese Taipei players in double figures along with 16 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks.
Mac Belo once again led Gilas with 17 points, seven rebounds, one block, and one steal, while CJ Perez had his best game in his young national team career with 15 points, two rebounds, and two steals.
The tournaments heads to its next phase beginning Monday with Gilas battling China at 3:30 p.m. (Philippine Time).
