MANILA--The Philippine Football Federation unveiled the lineup of the national team for the away friendly with Kyrgyzstan on Friday.
On the day of their supposed home match against Turkmenistan, Thomas Dooley bared his 19-man team, with skipper Phil Younghusband and Misagh Bahadoran leading the front line for the Azkals, in which they start their preparations for the Suzuki Cup on Tuesday.
With the core coming from the United Football League, the former United States player leaves no stone unturned as the defender also called up the overseas contingent of Neil Etheridge, Daisuke Sato, and free agent Iain Ramsay as they also build up for the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers next year.
Jovin Bedic and Fitch Arboleda made it to the squad for the first time ever, with the former becoming the fourth Kaya player to crack the lineup for the first time this year, after Dominic Del Rosario, Miguel Tanton, and Junior Muñoz, who also made it to the squad to Bishkek as well.
Simon Greatwich was the lone returnee in the side, with the Loyola midfielder inserted after Ceres' Stephan Schrock and Patrick Reichelt unavailable, with the latter having his season cut short with an ACL injury. The youngest of the Greatwich siblings made his last appearance for the Azkals in the Suzuki Cup in 2014.
