MANILA--Perlas Pilipinas moved up to 3-0 in the SEABA Women's Championship after yet another blowout win, this time against Vietnam, 134-56, at the Bukit Sendirit Stadium in Malacca on Thursday night.

Perlas limited Vietnam to only eight points in the first quarter before dropping 41 in the second quarter en route to the 78-point romp.

Janine Montero led Perlas with 23 points and two rebounds, while Allana Lim added a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and one block.

Coach Patrick Aquino sees the latest Perlas victory plus its two other routs against Singapore and Laos as good as far as his rotation is concerned.

“More than anything else, it’s a way to preserve our starting unit for the bigger games to come and allow the other players to build their confidence, especially the newcomers,” said Aquino.

Huynh Bao Anh Linh led Vietnam, which according to Filipino gaffer Jojo Castillo is still a work in progress, with 12 markers and two caroms.
